Upcoming!
Short and sweet this week but I had to share news of these upcoming books.
From Laura Goodman of She Is Butters, Lucky Peach etc, CARBS, out this Autumn and published by Quadrille Books. To quote one of her tweets, 'innovating with carbs has always been my game' and I, for one, am mighty grateful for that.
Caroline Eden's new book. Black Sea, is also due to be published by Quadrille in November 2018. I'm really looking forward to exploring the food culture of Romania, Bulgaria and the Turkish Black Sea region through her lovely words and images. No cover art as of yet.
One of the places I am most looking forward to visiting in New Orleans next week is Willa Jean, the bakery whose talented pastry chef Kelly Fields winds me up daily with social media images of delectable things. Kelly has a book deal and whilst there is no date as of yet for the book's release, we can all still celebrate the fact that there will now be one.
I have ordered this because I do love a good cookery pamphlet (we need to bring them back!). Jessie Sheehan has collected vintage recipes and has tweaked and brought them up to date. Intrigued.
Out mid-May is this bit of outrageousness by Max Halley of the eponymous Max's sandwich shop in Crouch End. Max's ham, egg and chips sarnie nearly ruptured my alimentary tract when I tried to fit it all in (this is a compliment btw) and being diabetic, I doubt I will be able to eat many of his carbalicious treats but YOU can and I shall live vicariously through that instead *sobs*.
Intrigued by this, the first cookbook from HK's cult Yakitori restaurant, YardBird. Out in July 2018.
And this because I love Yasmin Khan's writing. Out in July 2918. If you're not familiar with her work, this profile by Mayukh Sen is worth a read.
