I don't think a beery affogato is for me, although it might tempt a couple of people in my orbit who love beer but don't eat desserts. The essential alchemy of a traditional affogato is the hot and cold of the two ingredients -- this seems more like an inverted ice cream float. I appreciate the opportunity to consider it from another perspective, though.
The beer can be gently heated up. The flavour notes are incredibly similar. Ice cream floats tend to be larger and less considerate about flavour pairing.- the affogato is elegant, a beer float isn't.
this would do well with a good chocoate Stout
