Hi Nic, I can't quite explain the feeling of joy I had reading your latest newsletter! I still remember the cheese and milk descriptions in Heidi and what a profound impact they had on me - I too wanted to live in the Alps, although rather than being a farmer I wanted to be a someone who collected all the lovely herbs and grasses and made remedies and such. But I definitely also wanted a slice of cheese, toasted over an open fire until golden. This came up in conversation with my mum the other day, who looked at me like I'd gone mad. I'm so pleased I'm not the only one. :)
May I suggest you explore https://www.jumilondon.com/ an amazing real-life and online Swiss cheese store in Newington Green. Their cheese catalogue is as curiously delightful as their range of delicious, perfectly curated, hard-to-find cheeses.
